Arctic Monkeys play the Strokes
Monday, August 13th, 2007I just ran across this. I don’t care about pop or rock. One of my favorite songs covered by a band I definitely don’t mind. Enjoy.

Now by no means stumped by any sophomore slump, the Arctic Monkeys returned to New York City with a mature sound, and a full setlist. Their hits were dialed in, as well a bunch of new tracks from their new album. Altogther the light show and tight pop dance tunes were so reminiscent of a Strokes performance. So, blog readers, that makes the Kooks and The Arctic Monkeys on the top of my list of “Strokes fame throughout England”, although the kids last night were hesitant to take the tempo anywhere below 120BPM. I came away amused, wowed, and twitterpated. Are they famous enough that I have to label it as a guilty pleasure? I defend myself in saying no. Remember how these kids cheated their way through cyberspace to become famous?
